International Conference
on Sustainability in Energy and Buildings
SEB-18

Following the success of earlier events in the series, SEB-18, the Tenth International Conference on Sustainability in Energy and Buildings took place in the Gold Coast, Australia organised by the KES International on the 24th to the 26th June 2018.

SEB-18 invites participation and paper submissions across a broad range of sustainability and energy related topics relevant to the main theme of Sustainability in Energy and Buildings.

Applicable areas included sustainable design and of buildings, neighbourhoods and cities (built and natural environment); optimisation and modelling techniques; smart energy systems for smart cities; green information communications technology; and well as a broad range of solar, wind, wave and other renewable energy topics.

The aim of the conference was to bring together researchers and government and industry professionals to discuss the future of energy in buildings, neighbourhoods and cities from a theoretical, practical, implementation and simulation perspective. The conference was an exciting chance to present, interact, and learn about the latest research in Sustainability in Energy and Buildings.

More details can be found on the General Tracks and Invited Sessions pages of the website.

The conference proceedings will be published by Springer as book chapters in a volume of the KES Smart Innovation Systems and Technologies series, submitted for indexing in Scopus and Thomson-Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) and the Web of Science.

In addition to presentations of full and short papers in general tracks and invited tracks, the conference also included expert keynote talks, and workshops.

SEB-18 was held at the same time and in the same hotel as Sustainable Design and Manufacturing, SDM-18 .

The Australian Research Council Excellence for Research in Australia survey in 2010 (ERA2010) rated SEB as a Grade 'A' (top grade) conference.

Best Paper Award

The Best Research Paper Award was presented to the paper entitled 'Performance Simulation and Evaluation of Net Zero Energy Buildings in an Australian Coastal Climate' presented by author Dr Duane Robinson. Other authors Mr. Joel Anderson, Dr. Zhenjun Ma.

Conference Proceedings

Following delays by some authors in responding to requests for corrected files, the proceedings manuscript went to Springer at the end of August. Consequently, we expect the Spinger proceedings volume to be published in November 2018. The proceedings will be available for download by delegates for about a month around this time. We will be sending out printed copies to those that have ordered them as soon as we receive them.
